Matthew Hauenstein, DNP, APRN,PMHNP-BC, is a visionary leader in psychiatric mental health care, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and accessible treatments to all he serves.

Dr. Hauenstein began his academic journey by earning his initial degree in Nursing from Clark State Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. He then pursued graduate education at the highly esteemed Case Western Reserve University, where he earned his Master of Science in Nursing and his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) credential in 2019. Committed to clinical excellence, he further advanced his training at the prestigious Maryville University, completing his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2021.

With years of firsthand clinical experience, Dr. Hauenstein seamlessly intertwines advanced medical training with a holistic approach to mental wellness. To stay at the forefront of cutting-edge psychiatric developments, he maintains active memberships in both the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses (OAAPN).

Dr. Hauenstein is deeply passionate about breaking barriers to psychiatric treatment. He specializes in evidence-based medication management and holistic wellness for a wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD.

He is the founder and lead prescribing provider of Prime Mental Health and Wellness, LLC, where he continues to guide patients on their journeys toward lasting wellness. 

Please note Prime Mental Health and Wellness LLC does not utilize benzodiazepines in medication planning.
